shareEven gay friendly Hollywood was not impressed with "Grandma". Lily was not even nominated for an Oscar. From a number of the reviews the movie is not that good. She didn't even win a Golden Globe, which is like a booby prize in the industry.
shareWell it couldn't have been a black nominee, because there wasn't any for those respective categories. I guess the Academy was even less diverse and more racist in the early 80's, than they are today. However, the quality was superior than today, so it shouldn't matter who they nominate now, because it's just a matter of names to fill a list. Or only deserving if a certain color, like black actors.
