Twins are not passed down through the father. The genetics of multiple births are passed down through the mother. It's how the woman's chemistry handles ovulation (single egg or multiple eggs, which results in fraternal twins) or the dividing of the single fertilized egg (identical twins.) The genetics of the sperm has nothing to do with it.
The reason fertility treatments often result in multiples (fraternal) is because treatments promote excessive ovulation or in the case of IVF, they fertilize and implant more than one embryo to begin with.
I read that she conceived naturally, so it wasn't IVF. But she may have been taking fertility drugs to help that along. By saying she conceived naturally, it just means it happened through good old-fashioned sex, but it doesn't mean she didn't get some outside help with the initial ovulation.
