It seems as though any time you hear of celebrities giving birth these days, they are having twins. I hardly know any regular families with twins. I'm assuming fertility treatments are in the now? Just curious.

shareI was thinking the same thing a few months ago. None of these celebs seem to have twins in their genes, can only be ivf treatments. Shame they don't want to do it the old fashioned way anymore, ivf is the best way if you don't actually want a husband/wife relationship. It does make you wonder?
shareIt does seem strange lately with so many of them having twins. I am 44 and pregnant, and if I was a celebrity many people would say that I had IVF treatments. lol You never know. Rebecca seems young to get help, but maybe she wanted to have two to spare time? :)

Actually, Jerry announced that he has twins in the family so wasn't too surprised that Rebecca was having twins. Off the top of my head I can think of three sets of twins that I personally know.
shareTwins are not passed down through the father. The genetics of multiple births are passed down through the mother. It's how the woman's chemistry handles ovulation (single egg or multiple eggs, which results in fraternal twins) or the dividing of the single fertilized egg (identical twins.) The genetics of the sperm has nothing to do with it.
The reason fertility treatments often result in multiples (fraternal) is because treatments promote excessive ovulation or in the case of IVF, they fertilize and implant more than one embryo to begin with.
I read that she conceived naturally, so it wasn't IVF. But she may have been taking fertility drugs to help that along. By saying she conceived naturally, it just means it happened through good old-fashioned sex, but it doesn't mean she didn't get some outside help with the initial ovulation.
OH well I gues if she says it was natural, it must be true! I guess all those starlets are implant-free too.
I think its because if they are going to get fat and have to be out of work, they might as well get 2 out of the deal...
