She was on the Dr. Oz Show today and said she lives in Las Vegas to be close to her 8 children, so does that mean she was including her son, Michael, that committed suicide? I thought that was a strange thing to say and also I don't think all of her children live in Las Vegas like she said.

Yes, she was including her dead child when she said that.
As far as I'm concerned, it's up to the mother to describe her family as she sees fit. She could say she has 8 kids, has 7 after losing one, etc., so if her dead child is buried in LV, then she would be close to her 8 kids. Honestly, I don't know if there's any way to say it without it being clunky.
FWIW, she carried three of the kids and the other 5 were adopted.
