I'm wondering if he has lost all confidence in himself - if he ever had any in the first place.
I don't blame you, Mau. I saw The Butler, however, and none of the "presidents" get any real screen time. It's still a feather in his cap that he was in that film. There was a mini-series on TV on the Kennedy family within the last year or so, and JFK was played by Greg Kinear, who does resemble Kennedy after a couple of years in the White House, and especially after being on steroids for his Addison's disease.
That is by no means meant to be an insult to Kinear - his face just has a fuller aspect, and JM's is lean and bony.
Lee Daniels said he wanted the younger, more slender, thin-faced Kennedy, who entered the Presidency full of hope and charisma, where 99.99% of Americans did not know the man behind the handsome good looks.
Someone also said Marsden looks more like Robert Kennedy, but I didn't see any footage of RFK in the film.
I'll be seeing it again on Wednesday (I saw it this past Friday morning and the theater was packed at 10:30 a.m. - amazing).
This high exposure has got to be a good thing and I'm still trying to be patient. It's not easy.
Also the Will Ferrell movies; he seems to have gotten a foot in the door there. This new one: I don't know if he'll have more than 10 or 15 minutes in it. I haven't seen any information on his part, and perhaps the whole thing is still in the rumor stage.
2 Guns is more of the same - a chance to be in the same company as 2 big screen icons. Marsden was in and out, there.
I would think there'd be no more of him, and - there he was . Unfortunately, if there's a sequel, he won't be in it. :-(
The other thing I'm thinking that in Hollywood, networking seems to be the name of the career game. Someone sees an actor in something and casts him in something else - the actor makes friends on set with director, influential actors, and gets cast in yet something else.
I wonder who directs his career- anyone? - is there a plan, or is it just this haphazard cluster/path of drama--comedy--comedy--drama--?
