Kaiser permanente spokesperson???

is she the spokesperson for kaiser permanente?
i swear thats her voice, if not someone sounds a lot like her.

reply

I had the exact same thought, though I can't prove it.

According to her bio on Wikipedia, it is indeed her voice on the Kaiser commercials. And the American Institute of Architects.

reply

ha. that is so funny. i thought the SAME exact thing when I heard those commercials. :)

reply

i love hearing her voice, but that is so gross. especially now, kaiser permanente is evil.

reply

Well thank the Lawd I haven't see this commercial yet, but I will be on the lookout for it. TeeVee is riddled with far too many commercials for health care products, especially pharmaceuticals, and agents of the "Health Care Industry" (hospitals, cancer centers, Liberty Diabetes supplies, Cialis, Viagra, Activia, Seabond Denture Adhesive......Flomax)........yuk.

If Allison Janney is a/the Kaiser permanente spokesmodelperson......hope they give her free insurance or a complementary check-up each year, since she is turning 5 0 years old this week, she will probably want it.

It's a radio commercial...worded like a press release or political statement. I'm sure that's why they thought of Janney. One I remember was about eating vegetables, "We believe in green beans, broccoli, etc." and all the ones I've heard end with "May you live long and thrive." Pretty clever.

She does have a good voice though. I think it's definitely her.

There's no mistaking her voice. And it sickens me to hear her endorsing that company. I imagine that when it came time for her to sign the contract to be the public voice of their company, she didn't have to bother driving to their headquarters - she just drew a pentagram on the floor, lit some black candles, and said "Kaiser Permanente" three times fast.

Kaiser is the epitome of everything negative association that people have with HMOs. I don't know anyone - liberal of conservative, Democrat or Republican - who had their "insurance" and didn't come away thinking of that company as pure evil. Their mindset is, "If we make every interaction anyone could possibly have with our company as unpleasant as possible, and our customers can't go anywhere else for health care, then they won't get health care unless they're practically dying, and we make money." She might as well be the public voice of BP.

Plus, a lot of those commercials are unbelievably obnoxious - the absolute worst is the one about how we don't appreciate our doctors enough, and we all want to thank them for making enormous sacrificies for us just because they care. Ugh, that makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

Allison Janney gets an A for acting, but until she ends her association with that company, she gets an F for ethics.
