Come back as the Punisher pleeeeaaasse!!!
Tom Jane as a Punisher has such a huge fan base! I know he is old now but I would love for him to reprise this Marvel character.

shareI've been wanting him to play The Punisher again for years. I really hope it happens. I just read that Tom Hardy wants to play The Punisher. I really hope that doesn't happen. He is so wrong for the part. For one, he's too small. Unless they want to call the movie Tiny Punisher. I don't care how much he works out, he's too short. He was too short when he played Bane.
shareYou do know that Thomas Jane is only 1 inch taller than Hardy right?
shareHe was so great as The Punisher but now that Marvel casted Jon Bernthal I don't see them going back. Jon's a great actor too and I'm looking forward to his version of Frank. However, I do think it was intentional with the Will Simpson character on "Jessica Jones" casting Wil Traval, an actor who not only looks like Chris Evans (as Wil's character is usually a Captain America and Daredevil villain Nuke) but Thomas Jane too. Will's character is a version of Nuke, who is the comics is also named Frank and his backstory is somewhat similar to Frank Castle's. It's even a theory that Will and Frank served together in the military and know each other, which would also be a crossover for "Daredevil" season 2 and lead up to "The Defenders" mini-series.
Thomas is also probably considered too old now to play Frank and that his film isn't part of the current Marvel movie/tv universe. Also, Thomas has a lead role on the sci-fi show "The Expanse" (which is great) and it just got renewed for a 2nd season so he's going to be busy for awhile.
Jon Bernthal as The Punisher? Are they kidding?😕
shareI'm sorry, but Tom is definitely not too old to play Frank Castle. If anything, he's at the perfect age to play him. Do you think Frank Castle is young in the comics? he's in his late 40s and early 50s in most depictions of him. So no, he is perfect for his age to reprise him. Shame on Marvel, for not doing that though. I don't like the Bernthal fella, and he definitely doesn't feel like the punisher to me. Especially after watching him in the walking dead as Shane. I was sorely disappointed when i heard they casted him. Tom is fan loved and mostly everyone wants him back as the punisher, but Marvel is just dumb.
shareI was going by how Marvel is casting mostly actors in their 30s to play these characters. Plus, that way these characters can be part of both the shows and films as the Netflix characters will be in the "Avengers: Infinity War" films over the next couple years. This also fits age wise if Marvel is going to connect a couple characters as there's a theory Will Simpson/Nuke from "Jessica Jones" served in the same military special ops as Frank as Wil Traval who plays Simpson is 36 and Jon is 39. From the trailers for season 2 of "Daredevil" Jon seems to have gotten it right and there's already talk of a "Punisher" spinoff on Netflix. I like Jon so I'm giving him a shot and Thomas will still be Frank to me too.
shareHuge Jackman is asking Tom Hardy to take over as the man with the metal claws.

I totally disagree----I think Hardy would be excellent in another action role, especially after seeing him kill it as Mad Max in the excellent MAD MAX:FURY ROAD. Plus he's a damn good actor anyway, and he's also got an intense screen presence,so he'd be perfect for it. Who cares if he's supposedly short (don't know his height, anyway) that didn't keep him from getting the MAD MAX role, did it? No,it didn't. That being said, I liked THE PUNISHER myself, liked Thomas Jane in the role, and was surprised that it didn't catapult him into bigger roles. After reading his quotes on IMDB, I kind of get why that happened, and it was his own choice. He's still working though000he definitely has a strong old-school presence, and is good-looking in an offbeat sort of way. He also seems to be pretty offbeat and eccentric---I mean, how any other actors would admit to having tuned a trick or two to keep a roof over their head when first coming to H-wood? That shows someone who is clearly comfortable enough with themselves to have no problems talking about something like that---which is refreshing. I gotta catch up with that show he did a while back called Hung, which I believe was actually shot in the Detroit metro area---being from the D, I wouldn't ind seeing it.)
