On WCCO radio (Minneapolis) this morning, the morning crew did their usual daily "Celebrity Birthdays" feature and of course included Alyson. When Dave Lee, the "main" host, mentioned her name and asked "Everybody know who she is?", the other guys brought up "American Pie" and "How I Met Your Mother", but nobody mentioned "Buffy". In fact, Lee was barely able to even finish SAYING "Everybody know who she is?", before one of the others went "This one time? In band camp?"

I'm a tremendous "Buffy" fan, mind you... it's probably my all-time favorite show. But I did think this was interesting in light of the occasional posters on this board who seem to think that Alyson is never going to be remembered for anything else EXCEPT "Buffy".

Wow. That is surprising.
I've never thought "Alyson would never be remembered for anything else besides Willow". Michelle and Lily are also some of her most famous roles, but it's weird there wasn't at least a single mention of Willow.

Eh, that's really not all that surprising when you take into account who was responding to this question. If they were all men, what are the chances they watched Buffy vs the chances they saw American Pie? And How I Met Your Mother is still currently airing and outrageously popular, so it makes sense they know she's on it, even if they don't watch it. I honestly didn't watch Buffy until about 3 years ago, whereas I'd already been watching the first season or two of HIMYM.
