If IMDB is correct then AH is 5'6". She's not tall, but she's far from short. IDK, it just bugs me when everyone feels the need to comment on how little and short she is when she's technically three inches taller than the average American woman (and four inches taller than me!). 5'6" is not short or little.

shareThe main cast of HIMYM are all pretty tall. Jason Segal doesn't tower over Barney, Ted or Robin and he's probably 6'4", so that makes them a pretty tall cast.
So in the real world yes, she's average, but standing next to the ppl she works with every day, she's kind of short.
I actually thought she was short, but maybe that's because A) She's always surrounded by tall people--like her costars, husband, etc. and B) She's "Hollywood" short. The TV and film industries tend to favor tall actresses.

Seems like Alyson's dealing with the same problem Josh Gomez does on Chuck; the rest of the cast is considerably taller than average. Neither of them are especially short; they're just normally around folks over 6 feet tall. Even Cobie Smulders looks a fair bit taller than Alyson, like how Yvonne Strahovski looks a lot taller than Josh.
