RIP to this blast from past. Yeah, he was the pioneer of the kind of white trash & ghetto antics we saw on Jerry Springer.

I must admit I never liked Donahue back in the day. It was media destruction of culture with a sneering liberal bias. Yet compared to Springer he was tame.

But like I said, I respect that he was ahead of his time in terms of entertainment.

Wow, sorry to hear that! He just crossed my mind the other day when I was thinking about how he interviewed conservative types like Dr. Milton Friedman. Even though a serious liberal, he was a damn good listener even when he disagreed with people like Friedman. He was even polite to Rush Limbaugh! He allowed his guests to speak their minds and didn't interrupt them.

Rest in Peace Phil, you were a class act.
