Without the Fast & Furious franchise, Vin Diesel would have been nothing. Maybe a half-way decent voice actor, but no actual physical presence on screen.

He's got another franchise that's pretty popular, maybe you've heard of "Riddick?"
shareRiddick is more like a cult franchise. The last movie came out in 2013 and grossed $43MM domestically on a budget of $38MM.
Don't get me wrong, I like the character and the animated shorts and the video games. But the movie franchise is dead.

Maybe Christopher Reeves? He was known as Superman and only as Superman. His other movies are popularity wise on par with Vin Diesel's other movies.
shareI don't know. You're right about Reeves, but with Diesel many people know about Riddick xXx just as much as they know about the Fast and the Furious films.
Personally I thought he also did pretty good in Find Me Guilty.
Yeah, Vin is also known as Groot too. You're right, he has more popular characters than Christopher Reeves.
