I don't care much for that one either. Or most of his 1980s work.

It's because there isn't a color in the title. His best two songs are "Red Red Wine" and "Song Sung Blue." If he'd named it "Heart White" it would be a great song.

Wasn't that the cringy E.T. song?

Yeah, he seemed to lose his songwriting mojo in the late-70s, producing dreck like this and the soundtrack for his one and only movie. I pretty much moved on from him at that point.

You should check out his acoustic comeback albums 12 Songs & Home Before Dark, from the early 2010's. Solid efforts & best albums that he has done since his late 60s/early 70s heyday.

I thought "Heartlight" was an OK song but definitely not one of his best songs.

It's a decent song but definitely not one of his best songs, I always considered "America" to be Neil's last truly great single.

It was alright to me but definitely not one of his best.

I normally disagree with EVERYBODY when it comes to music but I fully agree here. A sappy unmelodic sellout. He released one around the same time called Be Mine Tonight which I really liked. Would love to hear it with his standard 60s arrangement.

I'm a fan of Neil Diamond but I don't really care for Heartlight either.
