Was She Meant To Appeal To Kids

Her debut album was meant for younger audiences because of the song Reflection and her ability to hit the high e over middle c, as is being crafted after the debut albums from Britney Spears.

Her album Stripped had her acting like a pornstar because she looked like trash in the music video for Dirrty (but the song Beautiful earns credit for the message kids can relate to).

Her album Back To Basics implied that not only did she want to appeal to children, but she added a retro flavor (and she went the Marilyn Monroe route).

Not to mention, she has kids of her own too, so I'm not wrong. Also...

Aguilera: IN-SIDE!

Britney Spears was the bubblegummer, but I never felt that sat right with Christina Aguilera. I always felt Aguilera's appeal was aimed a bit more towards the dads, if you know what I mean.

reply

I never thought that.

What does her adding a retro flavor to Back to Basics have to do with her appealing to children?

Her debut was bubblegum pop, but she always wanted to sing mature music and never looked back once she recorded Stripped.

It was an exagerration.

Out of all the artist who came from the 90s teen pop era Christina Aguilera is my favorite. She can actually sing.

She was meant to appeal to a broader audience than Britney for sure, but people tried to put her in a "Brittany box", the same one Brittany tried to break out of.

Both ended up looking like hookers to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

What does being able to hit a high note have to do with her album being meant to appeal to children?
