Baffles me...

I don't have anything against the guy. He seems nice and everything but I can't for the life of me understand why he is considered a comedian. He isn't funny at all. I keep seeing him on Parks and Recreation hoping that he would make me laugh at least once but never did.

Adam Scott is hilarious, go watch 30 Rock if you don't like him. Or Community. Hoe.

Well I don't think many people consider him a "comedian." He's an actor who has done dramatic roles as well. Most of the comedic roles he does are based more on deadpan humor which he plays well in my opinion. But it's not like he's writing his jokes which aren't even in the traditional set-up punchline delivery, so no he is not really a comedian.

He is the straight man in P&R - every other character is a delightful exaggeration, except his, who is the normal "voice of reason" to measure the comedy and absurdities against. I don't think he is supposed to be "funny" in the show. He the "Jim" of The Office.

He cracks me up in all of his comedy roles, and I laugh all the time while watching his interviews. But like someone else said, it's his dramatic pauses, and his ease at using profanity when it seems so wrong for him (not sure why, he just doesn't SEEM like he'd be so profane, so when he does go that route, it's just giggle-worthy) that makes him hilarious. He doesn't exactly write his own material and do standup, though, so... no, not a comedian. Just a wonderfully funny man to watch.

And also extremely good at the dramatic as well. He does the ManTears routine very well.
