Show a little class and basic human decency, you monkeys

We're all humans here. ACT like it. Someone passes away before their time and you see this as an opportunity to make jokes and take shots at them? You pathetic, insufferable, worthless, wretched wastes of life's gift. You don't DESERVE to be mourned when you die (and I'm sure you won't) if this is how you behave. I don't care if you don't know him personally - you have no place in this world or the next to show such disrespect for the departed.

Stop acting like monkeys - you sit up in your tree of internet anonymity, feeling nice and safe, and fling your sh#t down on others - simply for having passed through the world. You are the kind of people nobody will ever remember. Your existence will truly be unremarkable and you will leave nothing but bones or ashes, which will eventually decay to nothing. Enjoy that fact. What you DO with your life defines whether or not you will be remembered - and being a little internet troll? You may feel superior or good about yourself...for a while...but the moment you are dying, remember...just remember...that you amounted to nothing, and nobody outside of your small circle will ever even be aware you existed in the first place. Nobody will even care enough about you to take shots at you on IMDB forums.

So, you know, you can choose to act like a worthless sack of crap, and leave no trace you were ever here...or you can do something worthwhile with your life - be that to entertain and inspire, like Michael did...or even something smaller, but still meaningful, like helping those less fortunate than yourself. You are only worth as much as your actions. If your actions are worthless, so are you.

Well said.

Very well said. Would've liked to have seen this on the Whitney Houston board when she passed. Its becoming so normal for trolls to lick their chops when someone dies. Disheartening and sad.

i disagree. this is not a funeral home. this is not a wake. this is an internet message board.

and some people like to laugh at death. they like to mock the dead and inflame the emotions of those who grieve. maybe they do it because it masks their feelings of inadequacy and uneasiness about their own mortality. maybe it's the only way they can maintain their cynical facade in the face of true pain. maybe they are just dong munchers.

whatever the reason, this is still the internet, where idiots are allowed to speak truth to power and the mob is entitled to shout them down. banning users or deleting threads only sanitizes the surface of the problem. users and admins should spend less time worrying about anonymous comments and more time remembering the golden rule of internet message boards:

DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS!!

reply

holy cow, that's stupid.

dude, you're a jerk. who appointed you king of the internet message boards?

here's a real world equivalent to what you just described:

I am sitting at a table talking with some friends and acquaintances concerning a subject i am very knowledgeable about(in this case, let's say 18th century british literature). then you run over and interrupt that conversation and say something like,

"HEY! HOW CAN YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT 18TH CENTURY BRITISH LITERATURE? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT JACK KLUGMAN WAS ON QUINCY, MD!!"

The proper--and not coincidentally, polite--thing to do would be to make a well-worded and intelligent response to his original offending post that succinctly and expertly laid out your case for this deceased person's import in the world of film and/or television.

i wonder if i got on your profile history how many dumb things i would catch YOU saying? probably a bunch.
