Who elected him spokesperson of the nerds?

It just seems like everyone goes to him for their Star Wars, Star Trek, comics, video game information and opinions and it's like...why? I don't get who made him the voice of the fans of those various things. I certainly don't care what he has to say about Star Wars. I am a huge fan of Star Wars, collected all the toys, played all the games, read the books, probably know more characters and ships than he does, so I don't really need him speaking for me and the rest of the Star Wars fans.

Does anyone else get that vibe, that he sees himself as king of the nerds or something? It certainly feels that way.

I don't hate this guy btw, so this is not a trollish post. I enjoy Jay and Silent Bob, Dogma, and Clerks, but something just irks me about that. It's like he's always got to comment on something Star Wars, or Batman, or whatever, and critique it and act like he's the know it all or something. Does anyone else get that?

Because people in Hollywood see the niche audience he attracted in the 90's and feel he's still relevant when he's actually a parody of himself.

He's the go to guy in hollyweird for nerd/geeky things because he's well known there! Also the guy is a sellout shill which they love in hollyweird as well.

One person commented that the kevin smith we knew is long dead, and a demon is operating the husk of his post-heart attack body.

Nobody. Kevin carved that role out for himself when his film career hit the skids. He does see himself as king of the nerds and has surrounded himself with a comforting ring of sycophants and fans who reinforce that belief for him. The man is clown shoes. He's evolved into the exact same thing he spent most of his film career making fun of.

I used to be darker, then I got lighter, then I went dark again.

Not factually correct at all. His movie Mallrats was early in his career and started the public awareness of his nerdiness in full gear. He's always been a hardcore nerd himself, unlike a lot of casuals in Hollywood that act like they live the culture, but actually only read the comics of the movie they are about to be in.

I remember watching that laughable video about how awe-inspired he was walking onto the Millenium Falcon set of The Force Awakens and that it duplicated his original wide-eyed wonder with Star Wars when he first saw it in the summer of '77. I saw that piece of shit Force Awakens and was bored out of my gourd.
