she is not extremely famous... i live in france and i don't think she's more famous here than she is in the united states, perhaps even less so... her most famous movies are gigi, lili and maybe an american in paris, that's it. those are american movies. and i saw her a few years back in chocolat, but yeah, i wouldn't say she's very famous in france. among the 1950 generation perhaps. and yes i used to like her very much in her old films.

No, not "still". In my opinion, she is hot NOW, I agree - totally.

She started becoming increasingly "hot" from around the time she did "The Subterraneans". Before that... Obviously, everyone has their own taste, and I know very many people love her in her early movies, made when she was very young. I am not one of them. With the exception of "Lili", where she was perfect, she - and her horrid coconut hair style - ruined practically every film where she was in. There is *something* about her (in those early movies, again with the exception of "Lili") that I simply can't stand. I can even admit I *loathe* her in them.

But now she is beautiful - and pleasant to watch.
