I just watched both a Season 1 and Season 5 episode of Family Affair, and by Season 5 he had lost a lot of weight.

I thought you were making a joke and referring to the skinnier actor John Williams who played Mr. French for a few episodes. But, his DVD photo shows Cabot actually did lose weight
