Model Christie Brinkley fought a barrage of accusations she was "acting" on the witness stand during her emotional testimony in her divorce trial on Thursday.

The 54 year old fought back tears as she recalled the pain of learning her husband Peter Cook was cheating on her with an 18 year old in 2006.

But Cook's attorney Norman Sheresky insisted the tearful show was just a clever performance, reminding the court that Brinkley is an actress.

The model responded, "I would call that a stretch... Really, I'm a spokesperson for products I believe in."

As the attorney continued to suggest Brinkley was acting in court, the model stated, "I'm no Meryl Streep. I was in a very successful film, National Lampoon's Vacation. It's 30 years later."

Speaking outside court, Sheresky told reporters, "There should never have been a (divorce) trial and it shouldn't be public.

"Since there had to be one, I think Peter should come off and does come off as the concerned father he is."

Dude -

Cook is a boderline pedophile that seduced a young, impressionable girl and continued a relationship with her even after he was warned to stop by the girl's policeman father!!!!

Brinkley isn't Mother Teresa, but Cook should have to register as a sex offender in my book. He even admitted he's addicted to porn. He has more issues than a magazine rack.

Please - she was an easy target. An 18 year old is techinically an adult, but lacks serious life experience and judgment regarding how to handle a handsome, rich married man offering gifts.

Why do you think these guys go for the young ones and not the gals in their mid-twenties ? She was naive. I blame her for being stupid, but I hold him responsible for everything. That's how life works. The older, supposedly wiser, more mature adult in the situation gets the blame because HE should've known better.

And I'm sorry - but the combination of the porn addiction (which he admits) and going after an 18 year old makes him a sex offender in my book. He has no self control. He couldn't even stop himself when the girl's policeman father threatened to report his behavior to Brinkley (which is how she finally found out.) Would you trust him with you daughter/niece?

I have to say that Cook is really gross. No matter how you look at it,you can't defend him. He met this girl at a toy store when she was 17 years old and he fully intended to have sex with her.
