Did she creep anyone out in 'Dune'?

The movie sucks but Witt was incredibly creepy as Alia. She was only 8 or 9 but she had blue on blue eyes and helped kill the evil guy. Yes, she was playing a good person but those shots of her all dressed in black with only her little face and blue on blue eyes exposed REALLy spooked me out! BTW--her acting was incredible:)

Yeah, David Lynch really F-ed up the look of that movie.

IF I want your opinion, I'll GIVE it to you.

I always thought she was meant to be rather creepy, as I recall the character Alia tended to unsettle people even in the books.

Say what you will about the movie but I thought she did an excellent job, especially as young as she was.

I have no complaints about her acting--she was great! The movie however wasn't.

Yup, she was meant to be creepy. She received the memories (or lives) of countless reverend mothers before she was born (when her mother drank the water of life). Normally this would be done at a much higher age, after much preparation. The experience screwed her up, not only can she not control the memories, they begin to control her. I think it was the second or third book where it really gets out of hand. That's why the reverend mothers call her the abomination.

So if she seemed creepy, it was intended that way :)

I thought she was adorable...

Hmm never watched that movie.

Might check it out soon ... unless I forget it again.

It's not a good movie--the book was far too complex to get into a 2 1/2 hour movie but they did what they could at the time. Give it a try. She doesn't show up until the last hour or so but man--is she SCARY! And she's one of the good guyds!
