DAMON YOU DO NOT REPRESENT ME! DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME!

On "The View"

You have been rich for too long if you really believe low income blacks are laughing over this incidence with the popular use of the "N" word.

You made me weep for you, for all of us when you made that statement on The View.

Rich African Americans don't feel the sting of that word.

When you make statements like the ones you used on The View, you make it difficult for a working class of people to defend themselves against the hate innate in the word. It is not a friendly word used by racists to diminish and define.

You, Whoopi, and Bill Cosby should be very careful the statements that emerge from your mouths, because the result does not impact you and yours, but me and mine.

Continue to think like a victim all the time and see where it gets you.

Do yourself a favor and dump your "Victocrat" card.

What the hell is a black man respecting black women have to do with being a victim? I bet if a white man was to call him a n&gger (with an 'er') to his face, he wouldn't take that as freedom of speech. People are so evil and selfish and lack compassion they don't even get how this has an effect on black women. Could Damon Wayans get away with calling a white woman a "flat ass bitch" to her face? Hell no, white people would come out of the woodworks and pretty much put a Scarlet letter on him for the rest of his subpar acting career. Why do black women have to take it? Like we are just not important enough to even care about? The original poster is right, these Hollywood type black men are out of touch with real black people. They need to shut up and eat their caviar and sip on their Cristal, they don't have a clue.

Thank you, Lala.

The responses suggest that I have a slavery mentality because I do not want to be called a Nigg**.

The biggest damaged done to us these days are by our own; as they have picked up where others have left off.

continue calling each other "n" to mitigate the punch couched in the glove.

Rannedwards, I understand where you're coming from, and I agree with you.

But regardless, Whites, Hispanics, Asians, African-Americans, Arabs, Persians, Indians, Natives.. etc. should not force themselves to conform to these types of racial slurs. We've all been victimized and "other-ed".

The most dominant power will continue to insert its hegemony on all others, and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.

There are many things wrong with the world we live in. I just pray that we all can find a common ground and stop destroying ourselves.

And now I'm going to get back to studying for my midterm, I feel like a rambling fool. :p

You have got to be kidding me. Black comedians make fun of white people all the time and there's never any blacklash. It's almost a staple of black comedy to talk about the "lame" white people with that same "lame" white guy voice. In fact, I just watched the clip, and wouldn't you know that Damon did that "lame" white guy voice on The View.

By the way, have you ever seen white comedians make fun a black people? Talk about a backlash if that ever happened!

There was even the "White Chicks" movie (starring Damon's brothers, I might add) that made fun of "white chicks." You're dilusional if you think there would have been any backlash had he made fun of "white chicks." He got blacklash because he made fun of "black chicks." End of story.
