Bert, the chimney sweep

I've had a crush on that character since I was 8. Loved how he played him. I would marry Bert. I would be Mrs. Herbert Alfred. Oh, so dreamy.

hated his accent, but loved his character SOOOO hott!!!!!!!!!!

I know it. I've read the Mary Poppins books and he does a very good job of playing Bert to the P.L. Travers character. Can I say...drool?

Saw Mary Poppins for the first time recently, and every time he came on screen I swooned. What a handsome man.
Oh and I actually liked his accent, I thought it was cute

How many times do I have to tell you? You don't put a bra in a dryer. IT WARPS!

I'm from the UK and didn't find his accent distracting at all. It is a ludicrous attempt at cockney and Dick himself has admitted it was terrible but as the previous poster says it is cute and for me adds to the charm of the performance.

I so agree. I was about ten when I saw it and I knew I was in love..

I've been watching that movie since I was a baby. Then when I was 4 years old, I begged my mom to buy me the VHS at Kmart haha. I've always loved it and, of course, Bert is absolutely my favorite character. The man is so, so handsome and I've always loved him. Ahhh drool.

Yes! He's absolutely gorgeous and so charming. I've always had such a big crush on Bert! DVD was quite the sexy fellow in his youth.
