Good day for him at the sag well deserved highlight of the night.

Couldn't agree more - very well deserved! It's hard to believe that he's 87 - still so youthful.

I was really glad I had just flipped the channel and they were about to start the tribute to Dick Van Dyke. I was really excited.

The guy looks to be in great health! I was very surprised to learn he is in his late 80's.

If you ask me, he gave a big FU to the whole evening. He didn't even take his award with him when he left. And he says—I paraphrase—"This generation is the greatest generation of actors yet"; cut to people in audience nodding their heads in agreement.

BS. This was just yet-another award for him. I'm not saying it's not well-deserved, but I think he was just going through the motions to get it over with. That's what I saw, any way. He is undoubtedly the best actor in the room, and he pulled it off perfectly. Smile plastered on his face and everything.

But I didn't read an sincerity in it at all. Just a nice evening of free food and conversation.

Sadly, I didn't get a chance to watch it. But I'm surprised to hear that Alec Baldwin presented the award to him. Out of all people DVD could have chosen to present the award to him, he chose Alec Baldwin? What about Mary Tyler Moore or Julie Andrews? Anyway, it's great that he received the award. Definitely well-deserved!

Mary Tyler Moore and Carl Reiner both had the flu and in this age probably couldnt have made it.

I was wondering myself about how he just walked off without the award trophy. The screen shot of that moment was so far away that it was hard to tell what was going on. Did Alec Baldwin pick it up and carry it off? Also, the way he fumbled Baldwin's name, and the look on Baldwin's face when that was going on was kind of strange. Was it planned or for real that he stumbled over several other names before he got it right?
