How close was she to Judy Garland?
There are so many pictures of them together on set and parties from the 40's, 50's and even in the 60's. Where they friends and did Turner release a statement about Judy's death? Anyone know?

Not sure how good of friends they were but Judy was jealous of Lana because she wanted to be beautiful. Silly girl. She WAS beautiful. Lana also eloped with Artie Shaw. Judy was in love with him and it devastated her.
shareThey were good "studio" girlfriends. Didn't hang much after Judy's departure from MGM, but Lana attended a number of Garland concerts in the 1950s.
shareI think Judy felt inferior alongside Turner and the fact that Artie eloped with her probably made those insecurities even worse. However, Judy to me was always just as beautiful, if not even more so, than Lana. Lana may have been a tall, blue eyed blonde but there was something very special and unique about Judy.
shareThere was a time (early 50s, I think) where Lana and Judy lived next door to each other, and spent quite a bit of their free time together. Lana's daughter Cheryl and Judy's daughter Liza used to play together.
Lana was not tall. She was petite.
