For a long time, I thought she was British!

Ever since watching "Three Men and a Baby", I actually thought she was British, & faking an "American Accent" in her other films! lol! It wasn't until I came to check her up on imdb a couple of yrs. ago, that I realise that she is really American!

seriously? she has the worst "english" accent i've ever heard (and that's including dick van dyke and the monstrosity that is going on in heroes at the moment)

After watching Three Men And A Baby" recently, she had me convinced that the Sylvia role was played by a British actress, and she gave a very moving, sincere performance as well.

reply

Really? I've always thought she had one of the best british accent imitations! Like the OP, I thought she was actually from England for a long time.

Me, too! Actually, I thought her American accent was bad, but I've noticed that New Yorkers can sometimes throw people with their accent.

reply

I agree. Her accent was great, I was sure she was a brit.

I thought she was British too. It was several years before I found out the truth. When I saw "Greedy", I thought she was doing a good American voice. ;)

Real love is FOREVER!!!!

I think Nancy's dad is British and her mom is Italian. That's what Wiki said several years ago. Now it doesn't say anything about her ethnicity.

I'm British and I thought her accent was good in three men and a baby, a bit posh but I know some British people sound that way :)
