Will Lady in the Van take Maggie back to the Oscars
The play was a huge hit and gave Maggie and opportunity to show her extraordinary skills as a comic actress, but it also dug a lot deeper than that.... She is overdue her 7th nomination, coming very close with Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. She should be in contention this year for My Old Lady, but I think that film will sink without a trace sadly...
But Lady in the Van is a meaty leading role with a huge range and additionally is as far away from the Downton Dowager as one could get!
