Any blacks her?
Was OJ a black man’s icon?
shareYes, at least at a certain point in time
shareI’m making assumptions based on my life experience from interactions with others similar to him. OJ seemed to be on opportunist who felt he transcended the color line. Based solely on his athletic career, he was one of the best to ever play football so it was easy to have that aura about himself due to the numerous accolades earned.
OJ used color when it was expedient to do so. Whether it was being the first spokesperson of color for Hertz, parts in movies with limited acting ability or other endorsements, he used it for his gain. Unless you were a person of similar status, it doesn’t seem he had much to do with you regardless of color. That’s generally the way it is with most people of financial means. I feel that OJ Simpson loved whites more then he cared about the black community. After the trial when he was acquitted he loved the black community since so many especially in the poor parts of cities the black community embraced him and his acquittal. It was convenient for him.
