He was going to be cast as Terminator.
Instead of Arnie.
shareBEFORE ARNIE...WHEN SCHWARZENEGGER AUDITIONED IT WAS FOR KYLE REESE...WITHIN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME OJ WAS OUT AND THE TERMINATOR WAS BORN.
shareAnnie was supposed to play the good-guy hero, hahaha!!! As if they have gyms and high-protein diets in the hellscape of John Connor's future!
Seriously, casting OJ opposite Arnold would have been so bad it's good, but really. It's better that they made a movie that was actually good.
Somehow Skynet was convinced that Arnie is a good Assassin-Bot, don't forget that this was the main purpose of the T800 series. So maybe after the armageddon only High Protein Shakes and Snacks survived :D
shareA person could write a fanfiction, or rural fanfictions, about how Skynet decided that a bodybuilder would blend in with the raggedy humans of its own era, or the normal overfed humans of 20th century LA.
And BTW, Arnold originally read for the hero role that went to Michael Beihn, and WTF were they thinking there! How, would a human living in a post-apocalyptic hellscape get that much protein?
Well, O.J. *IS* pretty good at killing people.

shareSlighty off-topic, but I remember this comic strip from a "Berkeley-Barb"- type metro paper in the early 2000's that put forth an elaborate parallel universe theory about people being randomly swapped between realms with their parallel counterparts (without, of course, knowing it) & how this could explain a lot of things about people clinging to innocence in the face of overwheming evidence to the contrary; the final panel punchline had Simpson (& other disgraced celebs like Marv Albert) exclaiming "Well! That explains everything!!!" By this theory, the Simpson in this universe (now in the parrallel universe where he really didn't do it) is running around insisting that he did do it!!!!
I've tried to find this comic for years thru every search parameter I can think of to no avail! I think, but am not sure, it was done by the same guy who did Zippy the Pinhead.
If the DNA is a hit,
he the one who done did this shit.
How prophetic that would have been. Even before the murders OJ would have made a convincing killer
shareJames Cameron Swears He Never Considered O.J. Simpson For The Terminator

In a recent interview on HBO Max's "Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?" director James Cameron asserted that a studio executive had originally pitched the idea of O.J. Simpson playing the title character in "The Terminator," and insisted that he hated the idea from the get-go.share
"Very early on, a highly placed person at one of the two studios that funded that film had a brilliant idea and called me up," Cameron said. "And [he] said, 'Are you sitting down?' I said, 'Well, no, I'm not.' He said, 'Are you sitting? O.J. Simpson for the Terminator!' I said, 'I actually think that's a bad idea.' It didn't go anywhere." Cameron went on to say that Schwarzenegger's story about having "concept art of O.J. Simpson as The Terminator" is completely false, as the concept art never included Simpson.
Cameron also reiterated the point that Simpson's involvement with the film ended right then and there when he got off the phone with the executive, saying "That was rejected out of hand before it ever got any traction." Regardless of what Schwarzenegger might claim about Simpson's possible involvement in "The Terminator," it's clear that Cameron doesn't consider him a part of the film's history and vehemently denies that Simpson was ever cast as the T-800.
