Brown Bunny didn't harm her career, she went on to win a Golden Globe!

Go figure. I don't think winning a Golden Globe and a role on one of the most popular television shows on television right now (American Horror Story) exactly equates to a ruined career. She's doing very well for herself all things considered.

From the beginning she always been the alternative girl, looks and roles. She's a good actress, charismatic and pick good roles. I really don't think that was a surprise. And for her profile, was a low risk choice. I watched Those Who Kill last night. I liked it, and she is very good on it.
I didn't even remember Brown Bunny until I got here. That movie wasn't about get money, so I really think it was an artistic choice. I don't get the movie or the choice, but it's clear that wasn't about money. I have more problem with nudity for profit than sex on alternative theatre...
Paltrow, for an example, did nudity and sex a lot on screen, but I don't relate her to "sex". In another hand, Love Hewitt never got topless on screen, but I totally link her to sex and nudity...

Stupid question, but can blow job scene actually ruin the career of an actress or it is that bad actresses with disastrous careers are more likely to take explicit roles? Chloe is a good actress, not a superstar but as far as I know, quite respected in the indie scene. Giving some blowjobs shouldn't take that away from her.

the line between mainstream acting and porn is not to be crossed, otherwise every actress would be pressured to have sex on camera

A bj is an intimate thing for most people, this is why most actresses [or actors] wouldn't do it. I don't think that a real sex scene would ruin the career of an actress. If anything, Chloe is doing fine.

go to film general board and ask people, first thing that comes to mind when you say chloe sevigny, most of them will say "blow job," i know this because there were two threads along those lines in the past two years

That doesn't mean anything. IMDB users don't represent the whole audience. Most people don't seem to care as her career seems just fine.

Hurt her career. By the looks of it not one bit. Since The Brown Bunny she has done about 25 movies (some were TV movies)

About 10 TV series and 6 shorts. She has 5 things in post-production.

Seems to me she has been very busy since The Brown Bunny.
