Is he aging well...?

Looking back on some of his past work, up to his Dracula role; I think he is aging pretty good. He looks very distinguished. But does he look his age? He probably has better luck getting younger roles than women his age do. I think he fits into his 30s age group, and when he hits 40 he may be able to still play a late 20s character. Some actors like, Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise are trying to hold onto youthful roles, but you can tell Tom Cruise can't jump around like he used to and Johnny Depp looks so tired playing Sparrow. And they both look their age, maybe even a few years older. Keanu Reeves I think can still do action for another ten years, he looks amazingly younger than the previous mentioned. And Elijah Wood, my goodness he isn't human, he still looks like he's sixteen or damn close to it. People say that when you do drugs and drink a lot that it ages you. Well... if Jonathan Rhys Meyers had such a substance abuse, it sure didn't affect the way he looks. Compared to Lindsay Lohan, who looks like she is in her 40s.

Considering Jonathan's alcohol problem, he sure has aged well. The only thing is his face looks a little fatter, but he doesn't look older than his age. He also has a youthfulness about him that other actors in his age group don't have. I can't quite explain it.

Actually, I think he's looked pretty rough the last few years. The substance abuse (alcohol or otherwise) has definitely taken a toll. He looked otherworldly in his youth and while no one can look 21 forever, he's a little scary looking nowadays. He'll always have great bone structure but he just doesn't look particularly healthy. Jude Law is no longer a beautiful boy but he's kept his bone structure (if not his hair) and he looks like a handsome man entering middle age. JRM's good looks always teetered on the line between unearthly beauty and alien--and now he looks more alien than good.

I think he's aging pretty well considering all things. Jonny isn't 19 or 27 anymore, everyone gets older. Some celebrities have destroyed their looks with plastic surgery, if JRM has had anything done it's very subtle. I just wish he would stop buzzcutting his hair and grow it out and lose the facial hair unless it's for a role.

Well said. Both of those things are just not flattering on him. He doesn't need to prove his "manly" mettle that way anymore. JRM is clearly a dude-I wouldn't mistake him for a girl…lol…maybe an alien..but it's those unique reptilian/alien features than make him hot!

His hair should be at least a little bit longer on top to balance out his forehead and add some height. Also when he has super-short hair he should wear something structured with a higher collar/neckline-a la Tudors season I. Otherwise it looks so off paired with those trademark deep V shirts of his. JRM certainly is into fashion and wears some unique things but the execution of some of his recent outfits could be a lot better-he should get a stylist to help him make the most of what he's got….especially now that he's getting older.

I also expanded on this topic more in this thread-http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001667/board/flat/217988255

You can tell he's abused something. He doesn't look as bad as say Amy Winehouse. I'm glad he realized he had a problem, would be devastated if I found out he was found in a hotel room because of an overdose.

If he keeps going the way he is with his sobriety, he should be fine. Don't do anything to your beautiful face, JRM.

I'm still not over Jonathan Brandis and his suicide.

Don't worry...it's simply impossible that he would join the 27 Club.
He's a good looking man in his best young ages....he's doing fine!

Yeah, I think about Jonathan every now and then. It would have been nice to see what he would have become. So sad...
