I thought this somewhat campy and overly evil performance of Valentine Morgenstern was great. He only got a grand total of like 15-20 minutes of screen time, but he made it memorable in the time he had.
I hope Jonathan returns for the sequel, since he will get more screen time this time around.

shareHe is already listed to be returning as Valentine in City of Ashes. I just hope the movie actually gets made. I would like to see how they fix the second movie since they screwed up the end of the first one compared to the book.
