And we have never recovered . Idk if there ever will be a good superman film again. Or at least one as good as superman 1,2. Reeve was superman no one will beat him at the role.
shareReeve captured the spirit of the Superman of the comics I read as a kid in the 1960s. In recent decades, superheroes have become grim and tortured with mental health issues. Superman wears dull gray and brown instead of bright blue, red, and yellow. They've spoiled it.

Henry Cavill might be a nice guy, but he has none of the presence or acting talent of Christopher, and he's also too short for the role and has a less manly face.
It's funny to think that two Supermen later, and we still don't have anyone who can match Reeve!
Cavill's problem isn't his height its is he body size. Yes he muscled himself up for the role but it was just adding muscles to a smaller frame than what Reeves had to begin with. If Cavill had been bigger to begin with then he would have looked more like Superman when he worked on his muscles instead he looked like he was just wearing a fake muscle suit because his underlying bones weren't big enough to begin with.
