President Trump complains about two female CBS News correspondents: "It wasn’t Donna Reed, I can tell you that"

In a New York Post interview, Trump singled out CBS News' Weijia Jiang and Paula Reid -- who've stood out for pressing Trump about his coronavirus response when he did daily briefings -- as people who particularly irritated him. He also contrasted them with iconic 1950s mom Donna Reed. "Paula Reid, she’s sitting there and I say, ‘How angry. I mean, what’s the purpose?’ They’re not even tough questions, but you see the attitude of these people, it’s like incredible," the president said. "So you know, I enjoyed it. You know, we didn’t stop them. I mean, this is breaking, this, but we didn’t stop them. Because we’ll probably do maybe one a week, sometimes two depending on the news, but (new press secretary) Kayleigh (McEnany)’s going to be able to do them." Reid responded to Trump's comments on Twitter: President Trump tells @nypost I am nothing like 50's American archetypal mom Donna Reed. Fact-check: True." Jiang added in her own tweet: "I can confirm @PaulaReidCBS’ reporting here. But I wouldn’t describe us as 'irritating.'" ALSO: Donna Reed wasn't what Trump thinks she was: Reed was an anti-war activist known as a "troublemaker" in Hollywood. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-complains-women-white-house-reporters-arent-like-donna-reed-but-she-wasnt-like-the-housewife-she-played-either-2020-05-05
