Oh, yes. Rathbone is a brilliant Holmes. I always found it a little frustrating that Bruce’s Watson is a blithering idiot much of the time, but their chemistry is irresistible all the same.
shareI disagree. He is a very good Holmes, but I think Donkey Kong is the best Sherlock Holmes ever.
All kidding aside, I found Jeremy Brett to be the closest to what Holmes was like in the literature.
Jeremy Brett from the ITV Series is the definitive Holmes, he looks so much like the Strand illustrations with the adaptions so close to the stories, Basil Rathbone was an excellent Homes for his time though, and Peter Cushing too.
