Rita Moreno's first film
I wish that I could send this directly to Ms. Moreno -- it's rather personal. I've always been a movie buff, and when I was fifteen, I saw a movie about young, troubled girls, one of whom was the sweetest child. As punishment for something I seem to remember she really didn't do, the staff of a reform school cut off her beautiful hair, which prompted her suicide. I absolutely fell in love with the young actress playing the role and, of course, it was Rita Moreno. I've loved her ever since, which is a long love affair since the film, which co-starred Ann Francis (whom I didn't like at the time), was made in 1950. Wonderful memories!
