Does anyone know what happened about this?
I'm sure it was said that it would be released on a dual-version DVD, but nothing seemed to have happened. Also Channel 4 (UK) were going to be doing a full follow-up documentary about "the making of", which also never seemed to happen?
They had a short making of type video before I saw it in NY a few months ago. However they said the play will not be made available on DVD :-(

i don't think NTL has released any of the productions on dvd... the reason being they did not get some sort of permission from the audience (thats the reason I've heard at least)

Not the audience, the performers. I read somewhere that Miller, Cumberbatch, and director Danny Boyle didn't even want the production shown in cinemas.
shareThe NT Live site just says that there are no plans to release any of the NT live shows on DVD; something to do with the contracts with cast and crew. I suspect it's an issue with royalties and who would be paid etc.
I know that JLM, Benny and Danny did object to the fact that the TV people said they would have to wear those ridiculous nappies when it was being filmed for showing in the cinemas.
Clearly they lost on that one!
