LeBlanc is easy to like
As most people did, I watched Friends, and now I follow Episodes, and I must say I think LeBlanc is underrated as an actor. He has great comedic timing, he is not afraid to look foolish if that serves his character, and the last seasons of Friends and now Episodes show that he can play three-dimentional characters, with both a fun and a serious side to them.
But perhaps more imporantly, as a guy I find him likeable, and the way he portrays his characters makes them easy to relate to.
I don't know why he hasn't appeared in more and, more importantly, better quality films, but I suspect he is being typecast and doesn't like that. Him taking the role in "Episodes" could be seen to confirm that, as his character goes far in destroying the image we have of LeBlanc as the nice, but oh so safe Joey.
I am sure LeBlanc will not be taking my career advice any day soon, but if he did, I'd tell him to go dark and dangerous for a while. Something smart and fast. I think that will suit him quite well, and more importantly, give him more interresting roles in the future.
I like old spy movies, with Gene Hackman or Robert Redford. Serious, believable movies. I think he'd be great in something like that.
Just my two cents :-)
