Another nomination

Congratulations, Jessica Lange on yet another Emmy nomination for American Horror Story!

Good luck at the big show in September!

I have a feeling that this is the last nomination for screen work of her career. It's too bad; I was still hoping she'd return to the big screen and make a comeback at the Oscars. Sadly, it seems like this is it for her.

reply

No, it isn't "it" for her. She has "Wild Oats" out this fall and distributed by Weinstein.

Also, she spoke of having a "couple of films" lined up during an interview in April while in Barcelona for a showing of her photography.

She didn't want to mention what they were because in her words, "they haven't been announced yet."

Besides, Lange will never quit. She'll be like Kim Stanley, her idol, and take years off only to come back in her 80's or something with another Oscar nod and maybe even a third win.

People who seem to think that AHS is the end all or be all of her career are sadly mistaken. AHS reminded people of Lange; her talent, multifaceted life and extraordinary career has made them fans forever.

Hear! Hear! Even if her work is sporadic in the coming decades anything Lange does is extraordinary. Like you, I'm confident she'll go on dazzling us for many more years.

reply

I don't know. Obviously I would want that too as an ardent fan but listening to her speak so definitively and enthusiastically about her retirement is dissuasive.

reply

I love how she lives life on her own terms, like Terrence Malick, and doesn't just live for her career. She has staying power and her life experiences only enrich her flawless work.

reply

Great point! She certainly does!

Jessica has such talent that she will be around for a long time to come.
I love her work, all of her work. She can transform into anyone making it look real.
Keep up the good work Jessica. I LOVE you in AHS.
