Should the old goat retire?

To argue for the negative, I've heard great things about his recent performances.

To argue the positive - he's SEVENTY-SIX YEARS OLD!! (Officially.) And he's from the "hope I die before I get old" generation.

reply

Why should he? Streisand is 77, and performed in London at Hyde Park; McCartney is also 77, and still performing.

They don't need the money. They do it 'cause they want to. Good for them. Let them go on as long as they can.
Life is temporary. Death is forever.

reply

hell yes. what does he want to die on the stage or something?

reply

A lot of performers would probably prefer to go that way.

reply

if he still wants to do it, and people are willing to pay money for it, why on earth should he stop?

as a middle aged guy, i take quite a bit of inspiration from seeing genuinely old guys still performing with energy.

reply

Just because he’s from The Who’s “My Generation” in no way means he subscribes to an idea that The Who themselves have so obviously abandoned.

People will cling to sweet life as long as we can.
