The guy has openly admitted to being burned out after getting forced to jump into three Hobbit movies, which he had little to no passion for. Other than some Beatles documentaries, he's been silent about new films for nearly a decade. I really think he got serverely burned out on The Hobbit but I hope he's not retired.

shareJust a couple of documentaries since he finished the last hobbit movie eight years ago. I wonder why he made a trilogy out of it, when he wasn't that enthusiastic about doing the Hobbit. Two movies would have been enough to make a pretty faithful adaptation of the novel. They ended up having to add some things to make three movies from it. Maybe the studio was pushing for that.
