Why PJ? I understand that the process of bringing the Hobbit Trilogy to the big screen must've been a grueling one but it's a pity if he's not going to sink his teeth in another project.

I also think he's one of the very few directors even interested in shooting in HFR. I mean, Cameron still plans to do that with his ever pushed back Avatar sequels and Ang Lee has shot his next film in 120FPS.

If PJ is actually going to make the next Tintin film I would be interested in seeing that shot in HFR as well. Given the all CG nature of it, should be rather exciting.

IIRC, PJ was only planning to be a producer of the next Tintin film, not the director.

The most recent update I saw suggested that PJ and Spielberg are working together on a "secret project" but it's not Tintin:

Oh I thought the plan was that Spielberg would direct the first film and PJ the second..

Hope there's been some development on that secret project then..

He worked his ass off with virtually from like late ninety's until mid 2010's. The guy should be taking a long long vacation.

However it looks like he's writing the script with Fran and Phillipa for Mortal Engines. I wish I could be a fly on the wall during their meetings with Philip Reeve.
