With 'the two week maximum' attention span of today's news cycle, adding to the fact that Michael Jackson is dead (Bill Cosby is still alive)… so I don't see it having legs.

Honestly, I think it's basically forgotten already. Today we're in fervor over the school shooting. Tomorrow it'll be the next thing. Guilty or not, the scandal is simply yesterday's business.
I think it will blow over. He's been dead for ten years and many said the film was pretty biased and didn't have solid proof that he was guilty. Barbra Streisand made some controversial comments about his accusers but it's already been forgotten.

Now that Wade and James had their 15 minutes of fame, I hardly hear anybody discussing Leaving Neverland. My local radio station has played Beat It (1982) for the umpteenth time.
The guy's dead. Nothing more can be done. And the alleged victims may have made the HBO special to help support their court case against M.J.'s estate.
The people who wanted to believe it likely believed it while he was still alive. The people who didn't want to believe it, likely still have their heads in the sand. Even the people on the fence will likely judge the truth of the accusations by his music. I think the juries did precisely that.

Safechuck's claim in the movie which he swore under penalty of perjury that he was molested in a train station prior to 1992 was proven to be impossible because the the train station didn't exist until safechuck was around 17? Years after the abuse ended according to his sworn statement claim? No problem. I'm just going to attribute this now proven false claim to Safechuck's "trauma" which made have a false memory or like the idiot fraud director go on Twitter & claim that Safechuck simply got the date of when his abuse ended wrong & was actually around 17-18 on the cusp of adulthood despite it destroying the movie's entire narrative.
Will never understand why people can't put aside the difference of the artistic work be it actor or singer or other vs their personal life troubles. You can still like his music and think he's a pedo. Since he's dead, he can't pedo anything no more so there's that. All you have left is what you want to think of him as. I listen to his music from time to time, I also watch Kevin Spacey movies (the good ones) once in awhile etc. If he didn't diddle my fiddle, I couldn't care less as the fan base will do the yelling and moaning for me.

I don't think it'll mean everyone will stop listening to his music or watching his videos, just as there are people who'll still watch reruns of The Cosby Show and his other works. Just not with the same feelings as they did before.
