His performance in The Field was remarkable, how the hell could the academy vote for Irons instead?

How could the academy not even nominate Ray Liotta for Goodfellas easily the best leading performance of 1990

bah,rockycairns,Harris and Irons are both better than Liotta that year,but i agree with deathjamm, Richard Harris should have won for The Field,marvellous performance.

Jeremy Irons didn't win it for Reversals of Fortune. He won it because the Academy made the oversight of not even nominating him for Dead Ringers. Classic make-up Oscar. He even thanked David Cronenberg during his speech and for obvious reasons.
