...played a likeable character? Not one movie I've seen her in has she been likeable. Some examples include The Invisible (uncaring mother whose work is far more important), Meet Joe Black (the annoying, overworked sister who complains about everything), The Mist (Mrs. Carmody, need I say more?), and Into the Wild (can't really say too much about her role in this one considering she wasn't in it too much but I still didn't like her), etc.

Don't get me wrong, she's a believable actress but I'm tired of every movie she's in lately, she plays the most loathsome characters.

yeah I wonder the same thing! She was so annoyed in The Mist.....damn she never shut up! lol. I know it is just movies she had been played her role that way....oh well....

She had a great,likeable character in Welcome to Mooseport.Eventhough it was a comedy, she was great in it.

She was fantastic in MYSTIC RIVER

I had alot of sympathy for her character in the end

And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the west

I loved her in Welcome to Mooseport! And I think she was pretty good in She's Too Young. I haven't seen The Mist so I couldn't say too much about that role but people thought she was brilliant.

Omg! You're absolutely right, I saw the Mist recently and I kept thinking of all the time I've seen her in other movies her characters make me mad as hell.
I mean the second she starts preaching like a maniac in The Mist I swear I wanted to punch the crap put of my monitor every time her face was on screen, it even came to an occasion that I hit a pillow to end my frustration. I don't know about you but I kept thinking and even convinced myself she was going to die for being so annoying in the movie, I felt like I was in a thriller just waiting for the monster to kill her; I was even surprised who get first.

Needless to say that's an interesting talent she has lol.

In the mist, she really pissed me off
