My positive opinion about Marcia Gay Harden, for what it's worth!!

After reading some negative comments on this website about Marcia Gay Harden I have to ask:

Why do people tend to forget that actors and actresses are only that on screen! In real life, they are human beings! They have a heart and feelings, just like you and I do! It's one thing to trash an actress/actor because you don't like their acting abilities (which, BTW, is not the case with Marcia. She has become one of my favorite actresses!) but it is quite another to trash them personally! Maybe you can form an opinion about what they are like as a person, say trough interviews, but I try not to judge celebrities through just interviews because they are edited and an actress/actor can come across as being the opposite of the kind of person they really are not in real life!

Does it make people feel better to criticize someone's looks, intelligence, weight, etc. just to build themselves up! I hope Marcia does not take to heart any negative comments that people, who don't even know her, make on this and other forums! Comments like some of the ones I have read can be very hurtful (I speak from personal experience)!

Since this is a topic about Marcia Gay Harden, I will say that though I have never met her, I have heard that she is a kind, compassionate and very genuine person!! Maybe that is what bothers people the most, that in spite of her success, fame and the awards she has won/earned, she hasn't let it go to her head! She is still the person I described a few lines up!!

I am totally honest when I say this, but I met her yesterday and had a conversation with her. She is here in Hawaii for the Hawaii International Film Festival and is indeed very sweet, down to earth, and genuine. Very lovely lady.

You're right...and wrong at the same time.

Actors are definitely real people and often the better they are the more like you are to confuse their characters with their actual personality, and depending on their roles this can make it easy to demonize them.

On the other hand, actors trade on their image plenty. If you're making 6-8 figure payouts based on your image, it's not unrealistic for your image to come under fire.
