I had no idea that he killed a guy decades ago during his gang days.

Not motivated to look it up, but the page doesn't say whether a weapon was involved. At the time, Dutton was a competitive boxer, and the death could have happened during a fistfight.

"Murder" is a legal term.

'Did Dutton kill and/or murder a guy?' is the proper question.
