The 'accent' ?

In some of her roles, i pick up a sort of an accent, European I would guess. Yet, she's...American? What?

People don't change, they just put on a mew mask

Her bio says she moved to South Africa when young. They do have a bit of a British sound from there.

reply

Her accent in Junebug is standard posh British. In the DVD commentary her voice is British with an occasional trace of South African. She mentions that her mother is South African.

reply

Its more like posh South African English.

As an English-speaking SAn myself, I am very certain of this.

Its hard to pick up if you’re not familiar with the way people in South Africa speak.

reply

posh blighty too

reply

Yeah, in many ways they're indistinguishable.

Posh English-speaking South Africans do try to keep it as close to their 'ancestors' as they can

reply

Her accent in Junebug is not standard "posh British".

Maturity. The very staple of the IMDb message boards.

reply

Are you retarded? White South Africans are almost all of Dutch descent and speak English with what is essentially a Dutch accent (Afrikaans is a derivative of Dutch, nearly mutually intelligible).

reply

As a South African who lives in South Africa, I think I have a better idea of the language of my country and the way people speak here than you do.

Please spare me your ignorance.
