RIP
For all the stuff he did my favorite was actually a guest star role on Columbo. Just a wonderful actor.

shareIt’s amazing how many of the stunts he did himself on The Wild Wild West. RIP
shareR.I.P.
shareHe played a nasty guy flawlessly -- all ego and mouth but coward in the clutch, while still trying to pretend he was a big guy -- on Mannix. His girlfriend finally walks out: "She'll be back," his character says. "She always comes back." It was a tightrope of a act, because he also had to play the charismatic star of a TV show. He did the part so well people thought he was really like that. Whether he was or wasn't, he could play it flawlessly.
shareYep
shareIn the early sixties movie "Palm Springs" he played a feisty, spoiled rich kid with a chip on his shoulder. I often felt his feistiness was what made his characters, good and bad, so appealing.
shareAnother great one lost
shareMy favorite was Pappy Boyington on Baa Baa Black Sheep / Black Sheep Squadron. Then there was his awesome Eveready battery commercials...

And Johnny Carson's parody - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BPN2mbBSMM&t=1m37s
shareSaturday Night Live did a parody, too, with Martin Sheen playing Conrad. He's in a bar and dares some guys to call his battery regular, they do then take it and play keep away and make "Conrad" cry.
