Most likely EW asked and Julie declined. She's known to be wary of publicity and to feel-rightly -that too much media attention is paid to celebrities at the expense of more important, consequential issues. Or she may not want to publicly discuss her time with Beatty out of respect for his wife. In most profiles of Beatty, Julie comes off as his most serious love interest, second to Annette Bening. A recent Vanity Fair piece noted Julie and her husband Duncan Campbell are close with Beatty and Bening and often stay at Beatty's house when in Los Angeles. In the rare interviews when Julie does mention Beatty, she invariably talks about his family and how happy she is for her old friend. I liked her (too) short AFI video tribute to Beatty where she amusingly observed he had finally found a partner who was his equal and perfect match after a long, very thorough search.
