John only did five movies and all of those movies were nominated for an Academy Award. Four of which won for best picture.

The Godfather 2
The Deer Hunter
The Godfather
The Conversation

The Conversation didn't win Best Picture, it was beaten by The Godfather Part II

Interesting trivia though, every movie he made involved either Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Francis Ford Coppola or a combination:

- The Godfather - Pacino and Coppola
- The Conversation - Coppola
- Dog Day Afternoon - Pacino
- The Deer Hunter - De Niro
- The Godfather Part II - All three

Also, the titles of four of the five films start with “The”!! :)
