Why Looking deleted?

Does anyone know why "Looking for Comedy" was deleted from Alberts list of acting (see on IMDB list)? He still has it under writing and directing. And it used to be on acting but is now gone... Why?

Also, does it seem that this movie has been pulled from the theaters? It never played where I live and I was looking forward to seeing "Looking". It should have played at least one or two weeks in a theater here. Any thoughts on that?

Because he played himself in it. it's listed under the list of things he did as himself.

No, sorry, but it used to be the first entry under ACTING. Really. I remember it well and at least one other poster to this board also remembers it as being in Acting. In fact this person brought up this point to me a few days ago, so I decided to post for an answer. It's like he wants to disavow his acting in it?

To those of us who were following Albert Brooks and following LOOKING FOR COMEDY IN THE MUSLIM WORLD closely, all one had to do was scroll down about 10 lines for the listing on the ACTING. Then one day that was gone.

I don't know HOW or WHY or WHO did it but it 'was' there and then it 'wasn't.'

My first thought, too, was that he wanted to disavow his acting in LOOKING. I think that is a normal reaction to us who don't know him. But I also think that someone who has always been 'smart' AND 'brilliant' would just know that that would be a small consequence and that in no way would accomplish anything. MAYBE HE SHOULD LEARN FROM OUR ESTEEMED POLITICAL LEADERS TODAY (but, no, I think he could teach them a thing or two, actually) and just 'FESS' up and face the music and go on Letterman and Tonight and anything else and LAUGH and talk ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. Most people today do not know him. If they did, more would have given him the benefit of the doubt and gone to see his movie.

His wry, dry, ascerbic (whatever you want to call it) wit, writing and thinking is just fantastic and such a breath of 'FRESH AIR'. I can take an AB ride, experience, fix any day of the week and be better off for it.

GEE! I hope that Albert really knows that there are those of us who actually CARE that his name is there or not - NOT THAT IT MATTERS, however. PEACE and go see the movie if you haven't seen it.

Thanks twbrn3 ... For a while I thought I was losing my mind.... As I used to see it there and then it was gone... YES Albert. Your fans care about you and your movies. As the Beatles said "Don't Let Me Down"... Just "Let It Be"...

Just to reiterate the point from above. Looking For Comedy In The Muslim World was not deleted, it was moved to the "Himself - Filmography" section. It is a strange thing to do, considering Brooks also played himself in Real Life, which is not in the "Himself" section. Furthermore, Larry David plays himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm, and it is considered an acting role. Still, the movie wasn't deleted.

I've beent trying to see/rent/buy this movie, with no luck. Not at Amazon, not at Blockbuster. Definitely not in theaters. Any ideas?

Actually, I think all we can do is hope that that wonderful guy Mr. Albert Brooks or whoever makes such decisions will put it on DVD.
AND that all of Albert's movies are picked up esp. on the American Movie Classics.

(Also, 2 years ago MOTHER was played on Mother's Day - That would be great if that was added.)

OH. you said see, rent, etc...............
How could anyone know about it that does not follow AB.
It was in 61 theaters probably only 12 days.
I was lucky in that I got to see it twice. The second time I had the pleasure of seeing it all by myself in the theater at 4:30 in the afternoon. Not bad for me but bad for the profits. In the same theater, everyone was going to see Brokeback, Syrianna, Munich, - just for starters.

I have read that independent films are not advertised that much - since I am not in the industry that is incomprehensible to me.

AND,
if anyone knows Albert who happens to read this,
pls. tell him that there are people out here that need this to add to their AB collection. So what if it doesn't make many millions of dollars, water under the table, bridge, whatever now.

AND THANKS ALBERT FOR EVERYTHING!
PEACE to all the world.
